Removal defense and appeals: immigration court, the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Second Circuit
Biography
Samuel Reznikov leads the firm’s removal defense practice. He represents people in proceedings before the immigration court in New York, including people held in immigration detention.
His cases include asylum, withholding of removal and protection under the Convention Against Torture, cancellation of removal, and adjustment of status before an immigration judge. He also argues bond hearings for detained clients.
When a case is lost, he handles the appeal to the Board of Immigration Appeals and petitions for review in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He also files motions to reopen for people with old removal orders.
He joined the firm in 2005 and became a partner in 2012. He was born in Kyiv, came to Brooklyn as a child and consults in English and Russian.
