Investor visas and EB-5: direct and regional center investments, source of funds, E-2 treaty investors

Languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish

Biography

Inés Carvajal Ward leads the firm’s investor practice. She represents people who invest in a U.S. business as a path to a visa or a green card, and the developers and businesses that receive the investment.

Her EB-5 work covers the whole case: choosing between a regional center project and a direct investment, documenting the lawful source of every dollar, the I-526E or I-526 petition, and the I-829 petition to remove conditions two years later.

She also prepares E-2 treaty investor applications for business owners from treaty countries, most often from Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina.

She joined the firm in 2010 and became a partner in 2017. She consults in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and often works alongside a client’s accountant and banker abroad.
